Dear Members,
The Tennis Committee, in concurrence with club management, has regrettably decided that some of the scheduled tennis events will need to be cancelled due to current restrictions imposed on social activities and gatherings by the Governor. The uncertainty regarding when these restrictions could be lifted would not provide sufficient time for our members or staff to properly prepare for conducting these tournaments.
Events that have been cancelled due to Covid – 19 restrictions include:
Weekly Round Robins
Independence Day Tournament
Wimbledon Tournament
Out of the Hat Tournament
All other events are currently being postponed for the foreseeable future. This includes the annual Singles Club Championship and Joe Colvin Doubles Club Championship. Our intent is to create or host events as restrictions are eased by the Governor. Because this is a fluid situation, we will continue to adjust our plans accordingly with the intent of having events whenever possible.
Several key factors have gone into this decision:
Club staff is not permitted to organize groups.
Court reservations must be made by the players organizing the group.
Tennis staff are not allowed to pair players at this time.
Dining options are limited to 50 percent between indoor and outdoor options, and currently no more than six diners at a table.
On a positive note, the tennis professionals are offering drills with 3 players every 40 minutes on the following days:

Tuesdays – 9 to 9:40 a.m., 9:40 to 10:20 a.m., 10:20 to 11 a.m.
Saturdays – 9 to 9:40 a.m., 9:40 to 10:20 a.m., 10:20 to 11 a.m.
Personal use of the tennis ball machine is now permitted on Court 7 by reservation only. Please make reservation at least 48 hours in advance by emailing: gguittard@clublc.com
Members may reserve access to the ball machine from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. each day of the week excluding Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Members can make a 1-hour reservation.
Members will have access to the remote control.
Members should pick up balls with ball hopper baskets and hand tractors on court.
Staff will clean the tennis ball machine and equipment.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to work through this crisis and make necessary adjustments to tennis programming/schedules.
