Clubhouse at the Club at Las Campanas
$60 (cash or check made out to Santa Fe Texas Exes, prefer check), a portion is a donation to Texas4000
The Santa Fe Chapter of the Texas Ex-Students Association is again hosting a dinner welcoming the Texas4000 cyclists to Santa Fe as they overnight here on their way to Alaska. The Texas4000 organization sponsors a ride, by cyclists who are University of Texas students, from Austin to Anchorage, Alaska (the 4000 is the number of miles from Austin to Anchorage) to raise money for cancer research (see their website, Texas4000.org, for more information), the cyclists will be spending the night in Santa Fe June 9 and 10 as part of this ride (riding in from Santa Rosa June 9). The Texas Exes welcome everyone to this event, the riders and their stories are pretty amazing and would be of interest even if you have no connection to the University of Texas.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday June 10 with cocktails and conversation (cash bar-Club members may charge their Club accounts), followed by dinner at about 6:30 p.m., all of which will include meeting the cyclists. For our Las Campanas cyclists, there may also be opportunities to ride with the Texas4000 cyclists as they come into Santa Fe from Santa Rosa on Saturday or as they depart on Monday, plans not final on that yet. For more information on the dinner (or riding opportunities) contact Las Campanas member (and Santa Fe Texas Exes Vice President) Sam Haas at samhaas@msn.com.
